Title : Korean Seniors Seek More Job Opportunities
These day... people retire at an earlier age... but live longer... which makes it possible for a new trend to flourish in the senior workforce.
Many retirees venture into the fields... that they never considered before... but often face harsh reality.
Kim Jiyoung has more on this trend.
In the past, the beginning of old age meant the end of an active life... but now Korea is facing a new phenomenon.
The whole context of being old is transforming here in Korea as people are retiring at an earlier age and living longer.
Kim Sookja... is a 69-year-old lady who used to be a teacher.
After her retirement, she continues to work as a teacher in a public day care center... and as a commercial model.

[INTERVIEW : Kim Sookja] ''Having a job makes me strong and gives vitality to my life. People around me respond positively to me working.''
People like Kim Sookja are called OPAL.... ''Old People with Active Lives''.
And as the number of retirees grows... there is more and more demand for social activities geared towards their lifestyle.
